We would love for you to join us!
You can get involved in several ways, or just pop by for a coffee to see what it is that we are doing.

Bring your plastic waste to us

Have a look at what we can recycle (it is only 2 types of plastics at this stage unfortunately) and drop it off at our workshop.
We are a very small team without the logistic means to do collections. If you have a product and are uncertain whether we can recycle it, just take a quick picture and send to Sjani via WhatsApp (+255623419906) and she will reply with a quick YES OR NO

Know a lady who would like to join the empowerment program?

Send us a message on any of the platforms and we would be delighted to get in touch.

Want to participate in a workshop on plastic pollution?

We conduct the workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 12pm. Our showroom space is limited, so groups of 13 people is ideal. Bookings must be made via e-mail. The workshops are free as we love to share our love for the ocean and its marine life with you!

Volunteer with us

There is always something to do!
No experience necessary, we appreciate any input. Working on the equipment is unfortunately not possible as lots of training is required, but we welcome ideas and anyone wanting to lend a hand in any other aspect of the project.

Donate

We have a very long wish list for all kinds of tools and equipment.
We always need good quality heat resistant gloves starting from US$5. Should you wish to join our fight by donating, please get in touch stating the amount you wish to donate and we will advise what PPE, tools or equipment we can buy from your donation.

“We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. we need millions of people doing it imperfectly.” – Anne Marie Bonneau

recycle at OZTI

Launched in 2018 as a pilot project for OZTI East Africa. Finding a sustainable way of recycling hard plastic in Zanzibar.

Our focus  creating job opportunities for local women, up-skilling our power team, educating local school children and community members. We also focus on community empowerment and playing our part in saving our beautiful island from plastic pollution.

Our project is not for profit, and we fund our education and empowerment programs through sales
